Today, I’m finally sharing my thoughts on a book The House on the Cerulean Sea. The novel is about how can you restore your faith in humanity.
Synopsis
The story is about 40-year-old guy Linus Baker who works as a caseworker for the DICOMY(Department IN charge of magical youth). Linus has a very boring personality. He lives alone with his cat and his old records.
His job is to follow rules, shuffle papers, and control children. One day, he was called by “Extremely upper management” for a top-secret assignment. He must travel to the remote island of Marsyas inspect the orphanage which is run by “Arthur Parnassus”.
There were six children in the orphanage. All the children have their own unique powers like a gnome, a sprite, a wyvern, an unidentifiable green blob, a were-Pomeranian, and the Antichrist.
Linus went to Marsyas to judge the situation and make the report to close the orphanage forever. But, Arthur can do anything to save his orphanage and children because he thinks the children are not threat.
As, Linus spent time with the children, and Arthur he came to know that sometime rigid rules stop making sense. He realizes that choosing kind

The House on the Cerulean Sea is a straight forward story about to accept kindness beyond fear and prejudice. The books tells us that love is better than hate.
It tells us that we should not be afraid of people with different personalities. The books teaches us that sometimes it is better to stop following silly rules and start being kind to everyone.
Summary Of The House On The Cerulean Sea
The story of The House On the cerulean sea is about the strict government worker named Linus Baker. He follows his rules and work very strictly. He was sent to the island in Marsyas to inspect the strange orphanage. There were six children with their unique magical ability and the kind caretaker Arthur Parnassus. Linus was sent there to find out that why the Arthur is hiding six students in the silent orphanage.
The DICOMY(Department IN charge of magical youth) wanted to closed the orphanage but later on when Linus went there. He found no risk and danger in the children.
It is the warm story about finding family in the most strange place.
Why I Decided To Read This Book
To be honest I was tired of reading complicated and long books with either happy or sad ending. I wanted a book to refresh myself.
I read somewhere on the internet that this book is the comfort read. That’s why I decided to give this book a read and my decision was quite right! I enjoyed the book!

My Personal Review:
When I started this book, I thought it would just be a loving motivational English book. But, I got saveral lessons from this deep English novel.
The best part for me was how Linus feel about relationships. Watching Linus change was amazing. When the novel starts I found Linus a nervous, lonely guy who’s life is based just on rules but at the end he learn how to feel relations.
The kids were also lovable, from the protective Sal to the wise Lucy. They bring so much joy and fun chaos to the house.
By reading this English motivational novel you will learn how to be kind. just hits you with the idea that choosing to be kind is a powerful thing.
Seriously, this is proof that a sweet stories can also be motivational stories.
